  • Becoming a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson

    New to real estate?

    You will be required to successfully complete our Pre-licensing Course (see below) delivered through Holland College.

     

    Looking to return after being inactive for over 24 months?

    You will be required to successfully complete the Pre-Licensing Course (see below).

     

    Already have an active license in another Canadian province?

    You may be eligible to complete our Non-Resident Package (see below).

     

    Before applying for the Pre-Licensing Course, all applicants will be required to complete the

    Real Estate Prep Course (see below).

  • Real Estate Career Prep Course

    The Real Estate Career Prep Course is an Online pre-requisite course to be completed prior to registration of the Pre-Licensing Course. It was designed to help individuals properly understand what being a licensed real estate salesperson entails and to prepare students for successful completion of our Pre-Licensing Course.

     

    All prospective students are required to complete the course through Holland College's Online learning portal to explore a career in real estate before committing to the Pre-Licensing Course as there are no refunds after registration.     Please note: Certificates of completion are valid for 1 year and are required for successful registration of the Pre-Licensing Course.

  • The Pre-Licensing Course

    The PEI Real Estate Association, in collaboration with Holland College, has developed a newly improved Real Estate Pre- Licensing course that better prepares students for a career as a Real Estate Salesperson. Unless already licensed in another Canadian Province, anyone looking to become a Licensed Salesperson will have to successfully complete this course. Licensed in another jurisdiction?     Delivered by Holland College using a blended learning method of in-class and Online lessons, students will be expected to attend all in-class lessons and complete all Online lessons to be eligible to write the final exam. You will also be expected to complete a final exam with a pass mark of 75%.

     

    The Real Estate Prep Course, must be completed before applying for the Pre-Licensing Course. Applications without a Real Estate Prep Course Certificate of Completion will be deemed incomplete and will not be accepted.

  • Non-Resident Package

    If you are a licensed Salesperson/Broker in another province than you must complete our Non-Resident package in order to obtain your license on Prince Edward Island.

     

    This package is a take home manual with a set of quizzes to be completed. The cost is $1,200.00 + HST  and payment can only be made by cheque or money order.

  • Additional Information

    There are additional requirements needed to meet before getting your license including:

    • Age of majority (18 years of age)
    • Canadian Citizen/ Permanent Resident Status
    • Good ethical and financial sense
    • Sponsorship/employment with local Brokerage
